We offer a limited number of grants annually.
Bloom Grants are lovingly named after the Thich Nhat Hanh quote, "Why not try to see positive things, to just touch those things and make them bloom?" Our grants are designed to touch the lives of educators and learners around the world, leading to the blossoming of prosocial values, creative solutions, and a brighter future. Bloom Grants are designed to specifically support the development of humane education programs. Prior to receiving funds, grant recipients must:
- Join the Coalition prior to submitting a grant proposal
- Be a legally registered charitable entity in their region (does not need to be based in the United States)
- Provide educational services that align with one or more of our areas of focus - social justice, animal protection, and environmental ethics
Bloom Grants are designed to support new or existing humane education programs. The Coalition can provide up to $1,000 per grant to assist with the development of a humane education program, curricula, learning materials, and/or assessment tools.
Priority is given to partner organizations that are in the early stages of developing a program or assessment, and where the grant funds will have the greatest impact. Bloom Grants may be used to cover the cost of program materials and supplies, research, marketing, technical support and fees, professional development, and local or regional travel expenses.

The Bloom Grant proposal deadline is April 1 of each year. We strive to give every proposal the attention it deserves. As a result, the process can take up to 8 weeks from the grant proposal deadline to receive a response.
A carefully chosen team of professionals from around the world comprise our selection committee. Their backgrounds include education and curriculum development, nonprofit leadership, youth development, environmental ethics, animal protection, and social justice. The committee convenes annually in April to review grant proposals. They draw upon their extensive experience to make the funding decisions for the grants.
After reviewing all proposals, the selection committee may have additional questions before making a final decision. Once the committee has completed the review, grant recipients will be notified of their decision. We will email an award letter and agreement to grant recipients. Funding will be dispersed upon receipt of the electronically signed agreement.
Recipients are required to submit an impact report no later than 12 months after the award's effective date. The impact report must be submitted and approved prior to submitting future proposals for funding. Data collection will be required to measure efficacy and evaluate impact.
