How you imagine the world determines how you live in it.
As part of our Accessibility initiative, we publish a variety of materials that further the humane education movement. Please review our publishing and submission guidelines below.
Thank you for your interest in submitting your work to the Humane Education Coalition for publishing consideration. The Humane Education Coalition accepts unsolicited submissions from partner agencies and their representatives only. The primary emphasis for all approved submissions is to further the humane education movement. Submissions should align with the Coalition’s Core Values and Code of Ethics, and they may focus on any sector of humane education.
Our publishing priority is relevant and evidence-based nonfiction, although we will consider all types of written works. Examples of accepted works include academic literature, manuals, textbooks, picture books, tutorials, anthologies, autobiographies/biographies, collections, and chapter books. Works are typically published in both electronic and environmentally-conscious print versions through our preferred vendors.
Please send your work as a PDF file attachment via email to email@example.com. We apologize that we cannot accept any hard copy submissions.
The more information you can give us to understand your work, the better. At a minimum, all emailed proposals should contain:
A letter of introduction including: the author's name, address, telephone number, and email address; the title and subtitle of the work; an overview that explains the premise of the work and why you wrote it; and relevant information about your target audience and why the work will appeal to them.
A brief author biography (no more than one page) that focuses on your unique qualifications to write the work, and any accomplishments you'd like to share.
A market analysis of the potential readership for your work. This may include any comparisons to similar works.
Your complete manuscript, including a table of contents that outlines the work. If your manuscript is not complete, please send at least one full chapter of your work.
You may also include sample illustrations or photographs, if applicable.
Each submission we receive is reviewed by at least two editors. Submissions are reviewed on a rolling basis. Due to the high volume of submissions, please note that the review process may take up to six months. However, you may follow up with us if you have not received a response after three months. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to consider your work for publishing.
