Humane Education Coalition Announces Acquisition Agreement with Academy of Prosocial Learning
SAN ANTONIO, TX - The Humane Education Coalition is pleased to announce that they have entered into a definitive acquisition agreement with the Academy of Prosocial Learning (APL), a leading provider of humane education and prosocial development programs and resources and the creator of the Certified Humane Education Specialist (CHES) credential.
HEC and APL have joined forces to provide a comprehensive platform of integrated programs and services that will better serve and strengthen the field of humane education and provide greater stability to their existing infrastructure. The combination of APL’s distinguished reputation and expertise and HEC’s thriving network and beneficial programs will result in greater efficiencies and significantly increase their global collective impact. This acquisition symbolizes both organizations' intention to broaden their platform in humane education and deliver more value to their partners and educators worldwide.
HEC will be a nonprofit subsidiary of APL. The organization's name, mission, and core values will remain the same. The roles of HEC's valued partners, advisors, and advocates within the organization will not change. The International Journal of Humane Education (IJHE) and the Accreditation program will transition to APL. All other HEC programs and services will remain unchanged.
"As the founder of HEC, it has been my absolute pleasure and honor creating this organization and serving as its President for the last four years," said Megan Moon, HEC Board President. "I look forward to the evolution of HEC with enthusiasm, gratitude, and complete trust in our board’s leadership capabilities. We thank our global network for their continued involvement as we undergo this exciting transition!"
Both organizations will work closely with partners and leadership to make this integration as smooth as possible over the next few months. In the meantime, HEC's partners will continue to receive the same high-quality programs and services they have come to expect from the organization.
